CR2 is a RAW photo format used by Canon camera. Raw image files saves the data that directly comes off the image sensor and uses little internal camera processing to save the photos. Canon camera denotes RAW photo files with .cr2 filename extension.
You may loss CR2 photos due to accidentally deleting, formatting, corrupted memory card or any other human errors. But don't get frustrated as you can easily retrieve CR2 files by using photo recovery software. This software will easily restore your lost photos and video files of camera. Step 1; Download and install free demo version of Photo Recovery Software. After installation select “RECOVER PHOTOS” from main screen to recover your deleted pictures, refer figure 1.

Step 2: Select “RECOVER DELETED PHOTOS” option to recover deleted photos, refer figure 2. Then select the drive / memory card from where you need to recover photo.
